In Taiwanese constitutional system, the role and official authority of President is very confused and have the necessity to consider the issue. On the basis of the above awareness, firstly this paper was made to analyses the position of President in Taiwanese governmental system by the viewpoint of separation of powers.

Secondly, after 7 times constitutional amendments, the Taiwanese governmental system has come close to “semi-presidential system”. This paper also considers issues concerning with why French introduced this system and how to operate it.
