The purpose of this study was to explore the political leadership behavior of elementary school principals. The study sample comprised 84 elementary schools and 830 participants from Hsinchu, Taoyuan, and, Miaoli; of these, 682 participants completed a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was developed on the basis of a literature review. Data were analyzed using arithmetic means, standard deviations, the t test, and one-way analysis of variance. The results reveal that the elementary school principals exhibited a medium degree of political leadership behavior. Furthermore, elementary school staff members with diverse backgrounds showed differences in their perceptions of the political leadership behavior of elementary school principals.
