台灣於1997年7月將「建構無障礙環境」入憲，2013年實施建築物全面無障礙化，無障礙環境設計已成為都市發展之重要課題。本文探討無障礙設施之現況及其推行上之困難，並論述在無障礙空間之軟體、硬體上之缺失，並提出在規劃、設計及維護等之建議，以供日後相關規劃及設計單位之參考。

In July of 1997, the "construction of a barrier-free environment for the disabled" was incorporated into the Constitution. A barrier-free environment in all building facilities was implemented in 2013. Barrier-free construction has become a crucial subject for urban development. The following research discusses the current status of barrier-free facilities in general, and the difficulties encountered in the process of implementation. The insufficiency of both the software and hardware applications used in a barrier-free environment is also discussed in the research. Lastly, in order to provide a future reference for different construction units, instructions on designing, planning, and maintenance are also incorporated into the research.
