Through this paper, I sought to gain a better understanding of the links between Indigenous peoples' rights and identity-based activism through teachings of Anishinabe-Ojibwa Peoples. By visiting and interviewing Anishinabe peoples in North America and participating in the annual gathering called ''Igniting the Fire,'' I learned that indigenous wisdom and activism has at its heart not only the journey of seeking traditional cultural practice, but also the intent of promoting environmental justice and human peace. |
