In the Ming Dynasty has five major vocal tunes of ''Chuan-accented Scripts'' (泉腔曲本), it widely sang and spread its handwriting copied between Nanguan societies in the early stage, especially Scripts during the Ming dynasty. In 1986, I was teaching Minnan language in Tenri University in Japan, Professor Kazumasa Kanekō gifted a copy of the Jiajing period of Ming dynasty collection Li Jing Ji (《荔鏡記》) which professor Wu Shou Li has done its studies. Later on, Professor Piet Van der Loon had published a significant collection and studies for Nanguan such as All-embracing Spring: Newly Engraved Comprehensive Collection of Dramatic Arts and Operative Arias (《新刻增補戲隊錦曲大全滿天春》), The Splendid Treasure: Newly Arias selection of Host Ji Fang (《集芳居主人精選新曲鈺妍麗錦》), and Newly Engraved Selection from Fashionable Melodies for String and Wind Instruments(《新刊絃管時尚摘要集》). Besides, Professor Piet's student Professor Wang Chiu Kui had a great achievement in ''Mulien Opera'' and ''Ritual Opera'' which adopted in The Rare Edition of Chinese Traditional Opera (《善本戲曲叢刊》). Both teachers and students scholarship have made outstanding contributions to the study of opera, which is good praise in academia. However, I obtained The Complete Collection of The Newest Merged in The Ming Dynasty's San Chun Yan Yi Opera (《新選合併明朝三春演義大全》) engraved by Zhong Yi Tang in Chongzhen 6 years (1633). Although the collation has been completed, the publication still in line. This essay just a part of the study, and I would like to present it as a birthday blessing for Professor Wang Chiu Kui and academia. |
