Innovations and rapid technological developments in Smart Medicine have profoundly influenced many aspects of health care. Vital parameters are monitored by directly transmitting the data into electronic medical records. The records can then be quickly accessed by the physician through the Internet. Although we provided a machine for uploading the vital parameters in our outpatient clinic, the equipment utilization and value upload accuracy were only 25.7% and 23%, respectively. Upon analyzing the situation, we found major issues. First, the patients could not follow the instrument operation guide. Second, the nursing staff did not have instrument operation sheets to instruct the patient on how to use the machine. Third, the slot for inserting the health insurance card on the equipment could not be easily identified, the text in the "OK" key was not clear, and the software program had failed. Fourth, the operating guidelines were not clear. After implementation of the project, the results showed that the equipment utilization for outpatients increased from 25.7% to 92.5%, and the accuracy increased from 23% to 94%. |
