System scaffold is an element of temporary structure. Comparing with frame-type scaffolds, system scaffolds have the characteristics of high strength and easy and fast installation. The system scaffolds have been formerly widely used as the element of temporary structure in construction in the advanced countries such as America, Japan, Europe, etc. Until recent years, domestic engineering fields have largely imported or replicated these system scaffolds. However, because of the patent of system scaffold in advanced countries, overseas manufacturers of these scaffolds keep the mechanical behavior of the elements of system scaffold as a commercial secret, these mechanical behaviors of the elements cannot be easily collected. This induces occurrence of lots of collapses of system scaffolds in domestic construction fields. The elements of system scaffold include the standard, ledger, diagonal, wedge, ring plate, base screw jack, etc. These elements can be arbitrarily installed as a temporary structure according to the engineering environments. This research adopts the loading tests to explore the mechanical behaviors of various joints of the scaffold systems. These tests can confirm the relationship between the elements of standard, ledger, diagonal, wedge, ring plate, base screw jack and the impact factors of the allowance, inserting depth, wedge relaxation, ring-plate strength, different joint stiffness in system scaffolds. The results of these tests can really verify the mechanical behaviors of different elements of system scaffold. |
