In 2016, the government of Taiwan introduced the New Southbound Policy in hopes of promoting economic progress between Taiwan and nations to the south. In response to this policy, many major corporations have been expanding to the south, making southbound Taiwanese expatriates crucial channels of communication between corporations and their overseas subsidiaries. Any factors that influence Taiwanese expatriates are thus essential. This study identified various factors that greatly influence Taiwanese expatriates, making them a Multiple-Criteria Decision Making topic. This study selects Vietnam, which has the fastest economic growth and the highest proportion of investment in the nations to the south. The factors were established from three aspects: employees, corporate managers, and government agencies and researchers. Analysis was then conducted using a Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process. The results indicated that the top three actors were the expatriate compen-sation system, employment arrangements up on their return and opportunities to apply what they have learned, and healthcare standards and convenience. The results of this study can provide corporations with future reference for expatriate retainment and policy formulation. |
