Comparison of the Insurance Product Regulation between Taiwan, the UK, US, Japan, Korea, Singapore and China |
英文摘要 |
This study compared the insurance product regulation between Taiwan, the UK, US, Japan, Korea, Singapore and China. The results indicated that UK insurers neither need prior approval before launching new products nor are required to submit filings after selling. In the US, the Uniform Product Approval Standards was developed for the products to be sold across the states. Prior approval from the Authority for sales of insurance products with any feature that doesn't appear in the existing market is common in Asia. But for other products, prior approvals are not required to facilitate market development and improve efficiency in most Asian countries. The study provides a reference for legislation adjustments in the future. |
