保險業永續性議題與永續發展原則之探討

Sustainability Issues and Principles for Sustainable Insurance in the Insurance Industry

本文首先說明與保險業有關之永續性議題，其次介紹「聯合國環境規劃署金融倡議」於2012年6月所公佈之「保險業永續發展原則」，以及2006年4月於紐約證券交易所公佈之「責任型投資原則」。最後，為使國內保險業之經營能符合全球永續性之潮流，本文自保險產業、保險公司、監理單位及其他利害關係人等方面提出應行之道，期待保險業者經由風險管理者與資產投資管理者的角色，可成為全球經濟、環境及社會永續發展之基石。

The article examines relevant sustainability issues in the insurance industry and delineates the Principles for Sustainable Insurance launched in June 2012 by the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative as well as the Principles of Responsible Investment introduced in April 2006 at the New York Stock Exchange. To ensure that the domestic insurance industry conforms to the global trend of sustainability, some suggestions at the company, industry, regulatory, and stakeholder levels are proposed with the hope that insurance practitioners, as risk managers and asset investment managers, will be able to establish a foundation for sustainable development of the global economy, environment, and society.
