吳守禮教授的潮州語文研究及其成就

The Research of Ch'ao-chou Dialect and Literature of Professor Wu Shou-li and His Achievement

臺灣大學退休教授吳守禮先生是臺灣（閩南）語言和文學研究的泰斗，現代臺灣語言的研究者，無不受到他的感召和蔭庇，但他在潮州方言及文學方面的的研究較少受到特別的注意。本文首先略述吳教授在閩南語方言整體的研究成就之後，把重點放在他的潮州方話文學、方言及其文獻的研究。吳教授是臺灣第一位研究潮州方言文獻的人，也是第一位研究潮州話文學的人，他的明清閩南戲文校理贏得學界的多方推崇。他在潮州話文學和文字應用、方言學、修辭學、音韻學、詞彙學各方面的研究都是開風氣之先，且成就非凡。

Professor Wu Shou-li(1909–), is a forerunner of studies of Southern Min classical theater and philology in Taiwan, and is also the pioneer of the research of Ch'ao-chou dialect and its literatures. This paper highlights his pioneering works on Ch'ao-chou dialect, which cover a wide range of topics from literature, character usage, dialectology, rhetoric, philology to lexicology.
