This article described the nursing experience of a rare primary cardiac angiosarcoma patient. The period of nursing care was from September 1 to October 1, 2009. The Gordon 11-items functional health pattern was used to collect and analyze data through observation, interviews, and physical examination. The nursing problems included chronic pain, ineffective breathing pattern, and powerlessness. The author applied relaxation skills and music therapy to alleviate cancer pain, provided comfortable position and planed appropriate activity to relieve dyspnea, and discussed positive coping strategies and developed specific objectives to affirm self-values. The nursing experience provides references for nursing colleagues to care similar patients in the future. |
