Four groups of Ss were instructed to press a key in a quick motion to a 3.5 cm displacement, upon seeing a light following hearing a sound. Group I and Group II were experimental groups. Group III and Group IV were control groups. Sounds were paired with weights. There were two kinds of pairs each for GI and Gil appearing randomly for 25 trials. The pairs for GI and GII were,50db-500g, 70db-1000g; 50db-1000g, 70db-500g respectively. There was only one kind of pair for GIII and for GIV, i.e. 40db-750g for GIII and 80db-750g for GIV. After 25 training trials, there were two testing trials and three additional training trials. The results suggest that discrimination learning is established during the 25 training, trials and that there is a tendency of generalization during the 2 test trials but it is not statistically significant. |
