There have been many investigations that indicate the connections between colors and personality, especially emotionality, such as Alschler and Hattwick's study of children's painting, which supported the parallelism between color emphasis and strong emotions; and Peter's study of finger painting, which point out that color is one of the most significant categories, giving insight into the emotionality of the subjects. Oeser's color form experiment also showed the close association between color and affective expression. Furthermore, it was found by Wexner's study on color and mood-tone that certain colors tend to 'go with' certain mood-tones significantly more often than the remaining colors. In Rorschach test, the color responses are supported to indicate a readiness to establish healthy emotional relationship with the external world. The higher the color responses, the greater the potential involvement with others; and the lower the color responses, the flatter the subject's emotions. |
