The K Mental Health Questionaire (KMHQ) consists of 228 statements grouped into eleven subscales according to their facial validity, to which the subject is asked to give an answer of Yes, No or Uncertain. The contents of those statements are mostly related to the difficulties of emotional life and psychiatric symptoms. This questionaire was developed by the writer himself for the purpose of investigating the nature and the intensity of the subject's mental health problem. A priminary study on the validity of the KMHQ has been done and the result clearly indicates that the KMHQ can very significantly differentiate the mentally abnormal subjects from the normal ones and the psychotics from the neurotics (3). A detailed statistical analysis of each item in the Paranoid Scale which is one of the eleven subscales of the KMHQ has recently been done. The purpose of the analysis is to increase the internal consistency of the Paranoid Scale and to investigate the nature of factors influencing subject's responses to those items. Here in this paper the results of the analysis are to be reported. |
