It is well known that the Rorschach Test is one of the most useful tools in the field of clinical psychology. In recent years, some investigators have become interested in its diagnostic use in certain clinical groups, and they have attempted to find some diagnostic indicators from the theoretical foundation find actual data. Rapaport(2) put it in this way: 'our aim will be to standardize as far as our material permits the differential diagnostic indications provided by Rorschach Test, that is, to establish that certain kinds of responses and certain relationships of responses occur with significant frequency in certain clinical groups, but not in others and not in normal control groups.' When the symptom of a patient is not yet advanced, the projective test is the most effective aid for the diagnosis, but as for the Rorschach Test, those scattered responses and scores cannot always reveal the true character of the patient, unless the standard of diagnostic indications is clearly established. |
