本文敘述印度棗之性狀、習性、品種、栽培情形與展望。1．印度棗熟期為12-3月間，正為本省果歉季節，銷售利市中，果農收益甚豐，有經濟栽培這價值。2．印度棗在臺灣栽培面積995公頃；總株約為30萬餘株，以高雄縣市栽培最多，其次為屏東，彰化及南投等三縣。3．實生繁殖甚為容易，變異至雜，舊有品種已被淘汰，民間積極自行選種，目前主要栽培品種為保舍甲及蘇仙二品種。
