番茄優良一代雜種“種苗158及160號”之育成

Breeding of 'T.S.S. No. 158 and No. 160' Tomato F1 Hybrids

（一）目前臺灣栽培品種，大多為日本育成之一代雜種，對臺灣風土之適應性較差，而本地品種生育較弱，產量不高。為提高臺灣番茄單位面積產量及選育適合臺灣栽培之生果用一代雜種，乃舉辦本項育種工作。（二）53年8月開始微集本省栽培品種，及向美國農部引進耐熱之育種材料，共61個品種，分別於53年9月，54年2月及9月栽培，觀察及馴化結果，選出30個較優品種作為雜交親本。55年2月進行不同品種間之雜交，共有75個雜交組合。55年8月於新社及內埔進行F1雜交組合比較試驗，以Manalucie作對照，選得T4-21-160（57B×56A）、T4-21-158（55×19）、T4-21-159（49A×56A）、T4-21-160（47×56A）、T4-21-161（55×16）、T4-21-162（51A×56A）等6個優良雜交組合。56年9月及10月於新社、內埔、臺南進行區域試驗，結果獲悉T4-21-158、T4-21-160兩個雜交組合，確屬優異。57年3月及8月將上述獲選之二個優良F1雜交組合分別在員林、溪湖、和社、竹港、楠梓、潮州等主要番茄產地試種結果，一般果農均認為此兩個一代雜種之番茄生育旺盛，耐病力較強，產量高而穩定，甚有推廣之價值。（三）T1-21-158為適於南部秋、冬、春栽培之早生品種，果色鮮紅，莢果形，果重200~250公克，株勢健旺，耐萎凋病，尻腐病及筋腐病，且耐運輪，適作內銷生果之用。T4-21-160為適於週年栽培之早生品種，果色鮮紅，果型苹果形，果重約150~200公克，株勢健旺，耐萎凋病及筋腐病，且耐運輪，適作外銷有栽培之品種。

1. In Taiwan, almost all the cultural are Japanese breeding F1 hybrid varieties, they have poor capacity for the climate and soils of Taiwan. However, Taiwan local varieties have poor vigor and their production are too. In order to promote unit production ad select p1 hybrids adequate for fresh market in Taiwan, this breeding work were offered. 2. August 61 varieties were collected, some varieties were cultivated in Taiwan and some were breeding material of heat resistance introducted from U.S.D.A. They were planted in September 1964, February and September 1965. Through observation and acclimatization, 30 superior varieties were selected for the crossing parents. Feburary 1966, different varieties were crossed within them, and 75 cross combinations were obtained, than, in August, comparative test was taken with F1 cross combination at Hsin She and Net Pu. checked with Manalucie, six superior cross combinations: T4-21-154 (57B×56A) T4-21-158 (95×19) T4-21-159 (49A×56A) T4-21-160 (47×56A) T4-21-161 (55×16) T4-21-162 (S1A×56A) was selected. September and October 1967, the regional test was taken at Hsin She, Nei Pu, Tat Nan, and from results, two cross combinations T4-21-158, T4-21-160 were known to be excellent evidently. March and August 1968, these two selected superior F, cross combinations were planted at the follow chief productive places of tomato : Yuan Lin, Hsi Hu, Ho She, Chu Shan, Pet Tang, Nan Tzu, Chao Chou, most farmers admitted that these two F1 hybrids were vigorous, more disease resistance, high and stable production and were worthy of extension. 3. T4-21-158 is the early variety adequate to be planted in Autumn, Winter, Spring of Southern Taiwan. It's fruits weigtht about 200-250 gm. and are red color, apple type, The plants are vigor, resistant to Fusarium wilt, Blossom end rot, and Vascular browing, additionaly, the fruits are adjustable for local fresh market. T4-21-160 is the early variety adequate for four season. It's fruits weight about 150-200 gm. and are red, apple type, the plants are vigor, resistant to, Fusarium wilt and Vascular browing. It is adjustable for transportation and for export market.
