Results obtained from three years experiment with asparagus Variety UC 309, on a mixed slate and sandstone/shale alluvial soil, showed that the optimum rates of fertilizer under the conditions where 3,000 kg/l0 ares of manure was applied were 30 kg of N and 0~7.5 kg of P2O5 per 10 ares. Potassium was found to have no effect on the yield of green asparagus crop on this soil. The nitrification inhibitor AM (2-amino-4-chloro-6-methyl pyrimidine), when mixed with nitrogen fertilizer (urea), increased the yield by 4.5~4.7%. The analysis of the soil used in the experiment indicated that organic matter content was 0.98%, available K2O2 96 kg/ha and available P2O5 178 kg/ha. |
