The fruit set of persimmon cv. Niou-Sin was 4 times higher (38.8%) than that of the control (9.3%) after pollination. Fresh weight and size of fruits were also greater as compared with the nonpollinated ones. Difference in fruit appearance was also significant; pollinated fruit had more outgrowth in the stylar end while less in fruit firmness was observed. No other differences were found between these two treatments. |
