The purpose of this study was to understand the theories of scenic Beauty Estimation (SBE) and Law of Comparative Judgement (LCJ) and to compare the relativities of the assessed results between the two methods. The questionnaire was used to ask students and visitors about their landscape preferences on six pictures randomly selectd and their socioeconomic background. Data was analyzed by t-test, Kruskal-Wallis one way ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Two major conclusions were drown from the study results: (1) Comparing the estimation between students and visitors, we found that the result generated from LCJ method (r=0.9704) was more consentaneoous than SBE method (r=0.6223). (2) The difference of convergence in SBE and LCJ method was nonsignificant between students (r=0.9715) and visitors (r=0.5224). |
