The purpose of this study is to explore the visual preference for twelve kinds of wild herbaceous plants. The variables were 'observer distance', 'seasonal change', and 'personal characteristics'. The authors used forty-eight color photos in this computer simulated experiment and asked respondents to answer a questionnaire. The results are summarized as followed: I .'Observer distance' and 'seasonal change' have significant influences on the preference for wild herbaceous plants. 2.'0bserver distance' and 'seasonal change' have interactive influences on the preference for Mirabilis jalapa and Bidens alba. 3.The degree of influence that the personal characteristics, such as·'sex' and 'professional training' have on the preference for usual wild herbaceous plants are slight. 4.People with different age often have different visual preferences for wild herbaceous plants. Furthermore, the preference level of people who are under sixteen years old and above forty-six years old is proved to be higher than other groups'regarding to their preferences. |
