植物生長素auxin•可能是經由一耗能、單一方向的極性運輸系統及透過韌皮部被動的非極性運輸系統進行運輸。近期，對於阿拉伯芥分子遺傳的研究，及auxin輸入及輸出運送蛋白基囧陸讀經由選殖分離得到，在auxin運輸的分子層次上提供了新的證據來支持化學滲透模式。
