本試驗以盆底中央有一圓孔(I),盆底周緣有四小圓孔(II),盆底周緣有四弧形開孔(III),盆底中央有一圓孔加上周緣四個弧形開孔(IV),以及盆底為四個扇形開孔(V)等五種不同設計的花盆,栽培春播的'Castle'雞冠花(Celosia argentea var plumosa L.)和'Orchid Cooler'長春花(Catharanthus roseus. G. Don.)以及秋播的'Si迅er'爆竹紅(Salvia splendens Sellow ex.Roem.)花壇苗。除了在始花期時,調查植株性狀表現外,並於定植於花盆或田間後,到盛花期時,再調查植株之性狀。在始花期時,植株地上部之乾重,雞冠花定植於第III型花盆者,比定植於第IV、V型花盆者重。長春花定植於第III型花盆者只比定植於第IV型花盆者重,而爆竹紅則定植於任何型花盆皆無顯著差異。在株高方面,雞冠花和長春花都以定植於第田型花盆者株高最高。而爆竹紅以定植於第V型花盆者其株高最矮。雞冠花之葉冠投影面積(Canopy Shading Area ; CSA)以種於第II型花盆者最大,而種於第I、III、IV、V型花盆者彼此之間的CSA並無顯著差異;長春花和爆竹紅之CSA,種於各型花盆之植株並無顯著差異。雞冠花、長春花以及爆竹紅種在第I型花盆有明顯的盤根現象,種在第II型花盆者也有盤根,但不如第I型花盆嚴重,而種在III、IV、V型花盆者則盤根現象不明顯。在盛花期,雞冠花不管先前在何型花盆育苗者,其鮮重、乾重以及CSA都無顯著差異。然主花序長則是種在第III型花盆者顯著高於種在第I型花盆者。長春花種在第II型花盆者,其乾重顯著高於種在第III、V型花盆者。而種在第IV型花盆者株高最矮,側枝及CSA也較少。爆竹紅種在第II型花盆者之乾重、CSA比種在第III、IV、V型花盆者輕或小。花序數則是以種在第III型花盆者顯著高於種在第I、IV型花盆者。
英文摘要
In this study, five bottom designs of pots:(!) at the center of bottom has a hole,(Il)along the edge or bottom has four small holes, (III) along the edge has four holes, (IV)combined the design of I and III, and (V) four holes of fan shape, were used for culturing two spring bedding plants of cockscomb'Castle'and periwinkle 'Orchid Cooler'and one autumn bedding plants of scarlet sage'Sizzler'. The performance of potted plants was evaluated at the beginning of flowering, as well as at full flowering after transplanting to larger pots or field. At the beginning of flowering, the on shoot dry weight cockscomb was cultured in the pot was heavier than that was cultured in the IV or V pot. While periwinkle cultured in the III pot was only heavier than that in the IV pot. However, there was no difference on shoot dry weight among periwinkles cultured various types of pot. On plant heigh, the highest cockscomb and periwinkle were cultured in the III pot; on the other hand, the dwarf scarlet sage was cultured in the Vpot. On the canopy shading area (CSA), cockscomb plants grown in the II pot had larger CSA but there was no difference of CSA皿ong plants grown in the other types of pots. Furthermore, periwinkle as well as scarlet sage plants got the same CSA whatever they grew in any type of pot. Cockscomb, periwinkle and scarlet sage planted in the I and the II pot, their roots circled together but the former tangled more seriously. On the other hand, those plants grew in the III, IV or V pots without circling roots. At beginning of flowering cockscomb and periwinkle were transplanted. At full flowering, whatever cockscomb plants grown in any type of pot, the fresh weight, dry weight of shoot and CSA was the same. However, celsia grown in the III pot developed longer inflorensence than that grew in the I pot. Vinca grown in the II pot the dry weight of shoot was heavier than that grew in the III or V pot. In addition, periwinkle grown in the IV pot was dwarfer and the number of lateral shoots and CSA was smaller Scarlet sae grown in the II pot, the dry weight of shoot and CSA was lighter or smaller than that in th..: III, IV or V pot. Moreover, scarlet sage grown in the III pot, developed more inflorescence than that grown in the I or IV pot.
