This thesis is a research over the early stages of Sino-German relations in the 19th century. The theme is the Prussian East Asian Mission under the Earl of Eulenburg and the 'Friendly Trade and Shipping Agreement' of September 10, 1861, on the history of relations and the political situation at the time. Since then, the diplomatic relations between China and Germany have begun. In this early stage, the further development of this relationship was observed in two events: the 1864 Danish vessel incident confiscated on the coast of China by German Navel and the Great South Nan-ao incident in Taiwan from 1868 to 1869. |
