The Comprehensive Vocational Class of Vocational High School is an employmentoriented special education placement model. The purposes of the Comprehensive Vocational Class are to develop the work abilities and attitudes of the students with special needs, and to help them get employed after graduation. The proportion of Comprehensive Vocational Class graduates enrolled in colleges has gradually increased recently. As we know, parents and teachers have a great influence on students' career choices. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the views of parents and teachers on the post-graduation career choices of Comprehensive Vocational Class students. In this study, a qualitative research method was used, and the six parents and five teachers from Taipei city and New Taipei city were invited to undergo in-depth interviews. The results indicated that both parents and teachers expected the students to achieve independent living and earn their own living expenses in the future. However, the views of parents and teachers on the career choices of students of the Comprehensive Vocational Class after graduation were different. Most parents considered the possibility of attending university, but all the teachers expected students to go to work as soon as possible after graduation. However, both parties hoped to make individualized considerations based on the differe situations of each student, so that each student can find a life path that suited them. |
