To analyze a literary work by the arrangement of time, there are four approaches to the organization of writing: from momentariness to permanence, from permanence to momentariness, momentariness vs. permanence vs. momentariness, and permanence vs. momentariness vs. permanence. Approaching from permanence to momentariness is a common expression in Neo-Poetry, which results to the effect of “Time Frozen in Frame”. Such approach highlights the contrast or harmony between these two elements. Momentariness represents individual and specific event, with unique image and full sentiment. It will easily attract the reader's attention when a momentary scene presents at the end of a poem. The time frozen in frame becomes vivid and unique, and the aesthetic image becomes powerful. |
