This paper focuses on the relationship between the writing of multimodal discourse articles and the use of the principles of composition by emphasizing that the image is equal to the word in the articles of multimodal discourse. Thus, this research is different from traditional articles that only use the image or the word to present the meaning of the articles. Based on such a fact, we propose that using the principles of composition is the key factor for giving the article of multimodal discourse the function of communicating the meaning to the audience. This paper uses Husserl's theory of ‘intentionality’ and ‘horizons’ to discuss the above issues and argues when the author correctly uses the principles of composition and writing to write a multimodal discourse article that the article could become a media article, which means that the whole audience could achieve the same meaning from the same multimodal discourse article. |
