麥而康先生任普林斯頓大學英文系和比較文學系教授已有十年，主要著作是「英美文學中的日本傳統」以及十七世紀英國詩和日本古典詩的幾本專書：The Japanese Tradition in British and American Literature(1958), The Metaphysical Mode from Donne to Cowley(1969), The Cavalier Mode From Jonson to Cotton(1971), The Restoration Mode from Milton to Dryden(1974), The Japanese Court Poetry(1961, 與Robert H. Brower合著), An Introduction to Japanese Court Poetry(1968), Japanese Linked Poetry(1979)。
