This study has proposed a simple and convenient seismic design method of steel plate shear wall(SPSW), including the capacity design of the boundary elements, which are the beams and columns adjacent to the steel plates. Cyclic loading tests of four two-story slender SPSW have been conducted at the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering(NCREE). The main objectives of the tests include the verification of the seismic design method proposed in this research and the investigation on the seismic behavior of the SPSW systems constructed with restraining members(R-SPSW). The preliminary test results are introduced in this report. |
