According to the seismic records of several mid-raised buildings in some earthquakes, the numerical models with ETABS program were established in this study to process dynamic time analysis. The objective is to determine the dynamic properties in the fundamental modes of buildings. To compare the calculated roof acceleration with the seismic records provided by the Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan, this study modified the stiffnesses of beams and columns to find the least square error and the best numerical model. Finally, with the modified stiffnesses, the best damping ratio and the modal period of the building were obtained. In various seismic records, the changed damping ratio and modal period may result from the damage of the building. The results can be provided to engineers as references for building design. |
