Equipment base isolation can protect mechanics and valuable antiques from seismic hazard. The rolling type base isolation system is developed for this purpose and was verified by shaking table tests in NCREE. It can reduce more than 80% acceleration response during earthquake. The rolling type base isolation system has no impact on the function of computer servers during assembling. Several rolling type base isolators can form a large isolated platform and can be applied to different anti-seismic purposes. Building structures and bridges can equip with the rolling type bearings. The base shear of buildings and bridges can be significantly reduced during earthquake excitations. The rolling type base isolators can also be applied to retrofit the damaged structures and bridges.
