Highway bridge FBG sensors based weigh-in-motion(WIM) system is proposed and discussed in this paper. The vehicle types and strain response from the passing vehicles are obtained. However, these moving strain induced by the passed vehicle correlated to the highway bridge conditions such as the type of the bridge, supported and boundary condition since these FBG sensors are attached on the reinforcements, which are placed in the upper deck of the box girder along the vehicle navigation. These strain responses should be calibrated to identify the types of the passing vehicle. It will be calibrated using the vehicle at different speeds and carries in the future. |
