福爾摩沙衛星七號計畫（以下簡稱福衛七號）為台美雙方國際合作計畫，由太空中心與美國國家海洋暨大氣總署（National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA）共同執行，計畫任務目標為建立一個由12顆任務衛星所組成的衛星星系，以接續福衛三號任務。同時，太空中心發展一顆兼具在軌備用與技術開發的300公斤級自主衛星，以增加任務司用性並作為關鍵技術驗證的平台。福衛七號分兩欠發射，其中第一組6顆任務衛星預計2016年發射。 FORMOSAT-7 Program is a Taiwan-U.S. collaboration missionbetween NSPO and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA) of the United States. The objective of the FORMOSAT-7 Program is to provide a 12-satellite constellation to continue the FORMOSAT-3 mission. In addition, NSPO also emphasizes a self-developed satellite that adds value to the joint program and demonstrates NSPO’s capability to handle 300- kg weight-class small satellites. FORMOSAT-7 satellites will be launched in two batches· the first set of 6 mission satellites is scheduled to be launch in 2016
