次軌道科學實驗計畫(又稱探空火箭計畫)是由太空中心、中山科學研究院與國內太空科學團隊負責執行,自1998年台灣發射第一具探空火箭後迄今已執行八次探空任務。次軌道科學實驗計畫主要目的是執行探測台灣上空高層大氣、電離層、中性風場與微重力實驗;驗證太空科技研發之關鍵元件與系統;以及奠定未來發展衛星發射載具基礎。探空八號於2013年6月5日下午3時於九鵬發射升空,完成過氧化氫單基推進及科學儀器回收艙2項科學實驗。
The Suborbital Science Experiments Program(a.k.a. TheSounding Rocket Program) is executed under the framework of theNSPO, Chung Shan Institute of Science & Technology(CSIST) andthe academic science research teams of Taiwan. Since the programinauguration in 1998 with the first sounding rocket launch, a totalof 8 launches have been completed. The main objectives of theSounding Rocket Program include: the research of the ionosphere, neutral wind and microgravity over the upper atmosphere of Taiwan; validations of key components and systems in space technologyresearch and development; and to establish a foundation for thefuture development of satellite launch vehicles. |
