2010年10月宜蘭地區因為受到梅姬颱風影響，連續數天降下豪大雨，因此21日蘇澳附近及蘇花公路發生土石流，造成眾多房屋被沖毀，與公路坍方等重大災情。由於天候不佳，福衛二號無法立即取得無雲影像，直到24日早上才首度拍到蘇花公路坍方的光學影像。 During Typhoon Megi, Yilan was subjected toheavy rains for many days, causing landslides in SuaoTownship and on the Suhua Highway on Nov. 21, 2010.The FORMOSAT-2 could not take an image of thedestruction until Nov. 24 due to the cloudy weather .
