The Pilot Study of Interactive Lighting Design to Increase Positive Emotion and Environmental Awareness

With the advance of human civilization, there has been growing interest in the interaction design, especially in the interactive light. The advent of interactive lighting design has marked an important milestone on the road towards the connection between human and societal perspective. In this study, we present our approaches and initial explorations about environmental awareness issues around ATM machine in the Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) – Taiwan. The purposed of this study is not only to identify the environmental issues such as human activities, but also propose a conceptual design based on results achieved which might be a new solution of human-environment interaction installation. The research method is Survey Research to collect information about issues of interest, or the student comments while using the ATM. In this investigation 150 questionnaires were distributed to students in the MCUT from various department. A total of 102 questionnaires was returned, yielding a response rate of 68%. The detailed problem statements could be presented in this study.
