A newly recorded genus: Pyrrhopappus DC. (Asteraceae) and its newly naturalized species at coastal regions in northern Taiwan: P. carolinianus (Walter) DC is described and illustrated. This species is characterized by its habit, morphological characters on the capitulum and achene.
