臺灣民間宗教儀式實踐中的「品味動員」：陣頭、品味社群與宗教治理

“Taste Mobilization” in the Ritual of Taiwanese Folk Religion: Parade Troupes, Taste-Community and Religious Government

許多研究分別從不同的角度探索臺灣漢人民間信仰場域的變化，但尚未有研究從品味的角度切入來探討民間信仰場域的變遷。本文嘗試帶入品味面向的討論，凸顯這個取徑在宗教社會學研究可能帶來的貢獻。本研究從民間信仰場域中具代表性的遶境活動著手，分別從論述面及組織面分析了品味元素的影響。研究發現，與遶境陣頭相關的品味結構是結合廟宇信仰論述與陣頭技藝論述的關鍵要素。另外透過遶境活動中的品味動員，派生出三類不同的自發性組織化群集，這些新的管道創造了參與者發展出個人信仰的可能，展現出現代民間宗教場域中宗教治理的多元面貌。 While existing research on religion has documented the interplay between modernization and folk religion in Taiwan well, the notion of taste appears to be analytically absent from the current literature. In this paper, I illustrate how taste serves as an insightful framework for approaching sociology of religion. I begin with the ritual activity of territorial circumvention, and show new forms of religious grouping resulting from it. I further examine how taste takes place in activities of territorial circumventions, with a particular focus on its discursive and institutional dimensions. Specifically, my analysis demonstrates how the taste structure organizes different discourses of the religious field. From an institutional perspective, I show three types of religious grouping based on the taste mobilization. Such religious groupings invite people of different social statuses to take part in the religious field. The emerging religious phenomena discussed here shed light on the multiple dimensions of modern religious government.
