「相對精度」與「相對誤差」

「RELATIVE ACCURACY」AND「RELATIVE ERROR」

「相對」與「絕對」是同一個概念的相反兩端。應用於測計時，「相對精度」、「相對誤差」與「絕對精度」、「絕對誤差」，標誌兩個型態的不確定性表示方法與量度。對應於「相對精度」、「相對誤差」之英文名詞分別為「relative accuracy」、「relative error」。雖然「相對精度」是一個基本的概念，但是詳究之後，發現「相對」與所相對之對象，實值上存在多歧定義。本文以此為探討主題，討論與測量及測計相關之「相對精度」、「相對誤差」的涵意與落實。 “Relative” and “absolute” are the two ends of the same concept. While applying to metrology, “relative accuracy, relative error”, and “absolute accuracy, absolute error”, facilitate two ways of uncertainty representation. Although “relative accuracy” is a quite fundamental concept, many different definitions and implementations exist in practice. This note explores the issues and several widely implemented “relative accuracy” in the field of surveying and metrology.
