Japanese Tactics during the Korean War in the Ming Dynasty

日軍在萬曆朝鮮戰爭中，初期陸戰勢如破竹，海戰則處於劣勢；後期陸戰可以堅守城池，抵擋朝鮮與明聯軍之攻擊，海戰亦能對抗兩國水軍。此轉變有各種因素，戰術是其中之一。本文透過日軍之築城、攻守、武器運用等，分析其陸戰與海戰戰術，並與朝鮮軍、明軍略作比較。 Japanese forces seized the Korean Peninsula rapidly through land battles, but lost battles at sea during the initial states of the Korea war. However, they continued to firmly hold occupied cities and withstood attacks from Korea and Ming troops. Finally, they resisted the navies of the said two countries in the later stages. Various factors impacted this shift, but the application of tactics cannot be neglected. This study analyzes the tactics employed in land and sea battles and compares Japanese tactics with Korea and Ming ones in regards to the application of fortification, attack and defense, and weaponry by Japanese forces.
