Take People-center Political Thought Seriously

本文旨在爲傳統中國政治思想中的「民本」主張辯護，辯護民本思想及其相應的治道主張，自有其客觀與獨立的政治意義，不必依附於昔日君主政體，也不是當今民主體制應該排斥的敵人。本文嘗試說明，民本治道基本道理的落實，不僅是各種政體得否穩固的基石，也是爲政者無法忽視或逃避的治理責任。 This article defends the doctrine of Chinese people-centered political thought. The basic tenet of my arguments is that the people-centered doctrine has objective and independent meaning and value. It's not an addition to the traditional imperial system or a trivial part of political regimes such as modern democracy. On the contrary, without conforming to principles of the doctrine, the regimes, whether authoritarian or not, seldom can be good polities, and can hardly win the trust of the people. Even worse, the regimes cannot be sustained for too long.
