尋找戰爭中的桃花源──論臺灣作家王北山的韓戰書寫

王北山出生於福建，抗日戰爭後期加入國民黨，曾就讀黃埔軍校，1950年代國民黨軍在西南潰敗後，他被共軍俘獲收編，經歷思想改造，成為「抗美援朝志願軍」裏的一員，而後投奔以美國為首的聯軍，又成為南韓軍的俘虜，負責情報蒐集。王北山歷經生死關頭，最終於1954年投奔臺灣，擔任少尉，而後任教於臺灣的小學，直至1988年退休，於1989年開始在臺灣執筆書寫曾經歷過的韓戰刻痕，王北山歷經十年而寫成的《韓戰生死戀》，多達三十萬字，書中除了對無情戰爭的撻伐、反戰和平的追求、虛實莫辨的情報工作描寫，以及黨派、國族、主義的論述之外，著墨最深的是戰爭與愛情，慾望與人性的探討。書中歌詠跨越國族距離，強調犧牲奉獻，追求心靈之美的愛情，同時也念念不忘投奔自由的夢想。「愛與自由」是《韓戰生死戀》中讚頌的兩項關鍵主軸，但具體而言，這兩者又可以被合併為所謂的個體價值。他在書中批駁國民黨、共產黨、資本主義、共產主義、美軍、韓軍，對於「反共抗俄」或是「抗美援朝」等理念與口號，他也全盤質疑，他所信仰的價值是「愛與自由」，他放棄親人與故土，想要投奔的故鄉是臺灣，但那其實是他想像憧憬的桃花源，那是一處和平、反戰、平靜、美好的永恆樂土，而臺灣只是此一樂土的代名詞。
