Patients with peg lateral incisors combined space discrepancy can be treated by either replacing or restoring the lateral incisor after space redistribution, or by removing peg lateral incisor and positioning the canine to simulate the lateral incisor. This case report describes the treatment of a 14-year-old female. Her chief complaint is upper left side canine impaction. It is also found she has bilateral peg-shaped maxillary lateral incisors. Treatment involved extraction of two maxillary lateral incisors and two mandibular second premolars. Maxillary canines and first premolars substituted for lateral incisors and canines. After 26 months of treatment, the esthetic was improved and stable occlusion was established. |
