The purpose of this article was to explore a nursing experience in intensive care unit for a patientwith acute myocardial infarction undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery. From January 19 to January29, 2015, data were collected through observation, interview, physical examination, and chart reviewaccording to Gordon’s 11 functional health patterns. The health problems identified included decreasedcardiac output, acute pain, and anxiety. Through individual medical measures, the author helped thepatient to maintain hemodynamic stability. By providing active care, method of pain control, and surgeryrelatedinformation, the author relieved the patient’s acute pain and anxiety. This nursing experience canserve as a reference for the care of such patients. |
