To obtain micro-parts with high aspect ratio holes, forward extrusion is used to process smaller billets with blind holes. First, the finite element simulation analysis of micro-extrusion should be done to find the tendency and development of billet deformation. Then, micro forward extrusion experiments should be done using the micro-extrusion facilities designed and constructed by the author. Finally, the related process parameters gained from simulation and experiments and the measured results of micro-extruded parts will be employed for analysis and comparison. Thus the influences of different extrusion ratios, filler diameters, and filler materials on micro extruded parts have been explored. |
