The major purposes of this study were to explore the counseling effects of integrating life education into picture books group on university students’ self-esteem, life meaning and death attitude. The study adopted single-group pretest-posttest experimental design. Sixteen university students participated in this study. There were six sessions of group therapy, with each session lasting three hours, for a period of forty-five days. The tests were given at the beginning and the end of the intervention. The data of the two tests were analyzed through dependent sample t-test. The results show that picture books group integrating with life education has a significant positive effect on the self-esteem of university students. As for life meaning and death attitude, however, this group has significant effects only on some sub-scales. In life meaning, there was no significant difference between pretests and posttests. In death attitude, this group showed different effects on the sub-scales. |
