This study empirically examines the relationships between logisticscapabilities, competitive advantages, and operating performance ofinternational distribution centers in Taiwan. Based on a factor analysis, four keylogistics capabilities were identified, namely, customer response capability,innovation capability, economic scale capability, and flexible operation andlogistics capability. A structural equation modeling (SEM) approach wasemployed in this research. The results indicate that logistics capability has apositive effect on operating performance and competitive advantage, andcompetitive advantage has a positive effect on operating performance. Thisstudy suggests international distribution centers develop core logisticscapabilities to maintain their competitive advantages and improve operatingperformance. |
