Since terrorist attacks continuously happened in France, the European Union has faced the most serious threat from terrorism since the end of World War II. Therefore, European countries have made many efforts to fight against terrorism on state-level, EU-level and also, international-level. Individual countries such as France, Britain and Germany all have promulgated their state policies on anti-terrorism. The European Union also has created and invented many regimes and institutions to fight the crimes and accidents planned and staged by terrorist groups. By means of multilateral cooperation, the EU hopes to effectively decrease the widespread of terrorist ideas and the occurrence of terrorist attacks in Europe. This paper therefore aims to analyse and review EU's anti-terrorism policies, including its implementations and transnational cooperation of European countries and makes the conclusions. |
