The purpose of this study was to examine to the relationship between leisureconstraints negotiation and recreational sports participation of special educationteachers in southern Taiwan. The questionnaires were sent out to teachers of 103-academic- year from special education schools in Southern Taiwan. A total of 420questionnaires were distributed, of which 385 were valid. The results were as follows:(a) The major leisure constraints encountered was time constraints; the leadingnegotiation strategy adopted was interpersonal improvement. (b) Intrapersonalconstraints, time constraints, and interpersonal constraints could significantly andnegatively predict negotiation strategy of time management. Intrapersonal constraints,interpersonal constraints could significantly and positively predict negotiation strategyof financial improvement. Intrapersonal constraints could significantly and negativelypredict negotiation strategy of skill acquisition. (c) Intrapersonal constraints couldsignificantly and positively predict leisure negotiation strategy. Time constraints couldsignificantly and negatively predict leisure negotiation strategy. Leisure constraintscould significantly and positively predict leisure negotiation strategy. (d) Timeconstraints and negotiation strategy of time management could significantly predictsport participation frequency. Negotiation strategy of time management couldsignificantly predict sport participation time. Time constraints and negotiation strategyof financial improvement could significantly predict sport participation level. Based onthe results, suggestions and practical implications for educational authorities and specialeducation teachers were addressed in this study. |
